Aprendo Montessori is a bilingual institution for children of ages 3-6, that uses the methods of Maria Montessori: An Italian physician and innovator, known for the educational methods that revolutionized education worldwide. Aprendo is a school dedicated to creating and nurturing an environment where children grow academically and learn life-long skills. Our small learning community teaches Spanish alongside the following Montessori elements:

CAPABILITY: Students learn to develop their own capabilities through classroom activities that are designed for children to learn and practice decision making and team working. Depending on their age group, some children decide to work individually or with others. However, the curriculum encourages collaboration by providing small group interaction and lessons to teach children different learning methods.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Students learn responsibility and take charge of their interests and knowledge. Every day, the Montessori leader will assess the student individually to observe how the student is progressing. Individualized learning plans will be created based on the student’s unique abilities. Giving students the opportunity to be accountable for their learning environment, teaches critical thinking and independence.

KNOWLEDGE: The moment the student enters the classroom, they enter an environment that nurtures and teaches independence. With the help of materials and lessons, students gain the ability to learn for themselves and seek answers about the world around them. The Montessori curriculum admires and acknowledges that children learn differently, and our teachers are here to support and help your student grow.

SENSE OF SELF: The teaching methods encourage individuality and allow for children to build strong bonds with one another during their time at a Montessori institution. Children begin to understand that everyone has different needs, and everyone contributes to the community, not just inside the classroom but outside as well.

“When a child is given a little leeway, he will at once shout, ’I want to do it!’ But in our schools, which have an environment adapted to children’s needs, they say, ‘Help me to do it alone.’”
